Around the circuit of Mettet in the south west of Belgium, 25 cars started last Sunday in the Historic Rallye de Mettet. There were 12 competitive stages waiting for the crews. The morning started with thick fog and freezing temperatures making the first round pretty slippery, but the Historic Rally Promotions Team started with 4 scratches in a row.
Kurt Vanderspinnen : “ We are actually here to test some small changes to the car and new tires. This especially for the Rallye du Var. The results are very good and I’m feeling very confident with the car. Although we are already one minute ahead after 4 stages, we will continue to attack in order to test the reliability of the car”.
The team indeed continued with the same pace, finally winning all 12 competitive stages and the overall victory. The Ford Escort Mk1 has proven its reliability. This is the result of all the efforts of the team together with Blix Motorsport.
